
露比.艾克爾(Ruby Ekkel)
澳洲國立大學(Australian National University)的歷史系助理講師,並於2026年獲選為新南威爾斯州立圖書館(State Library of New South Wales)的澳洲宗教史研究學者(Australian Religious History Research Fellow)。她的研究重心在於人類對動物與環境的態度轉變,並且特別關注女性的觀點,以及科學與信仰在歷史中的角色衝突。露比在澳洲國立大學取得博士學位,其學術發表、教學與演說主題廣泛,橫跨動物史、環境史、殖民史和女性史。她近期榮獲澳洲人文、藝術暨社會科學理事會(CHASS,Council for the Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences)頒發的新銳領袖寫作獎(Future Leaders Writing Prize);該獎項旨在表彰三十五歲以下,於人文、藝術或社會科學領域有傑出著作貢獻,且能加深大眾對澳洲社會與文化認識的新銳學者。Ruby Ekkel is an Associate Lecturer in History at the Australian National University and the 2026 Australian Religious History Research Fellow at the State Library of New South Wales. Her research focuses on changing attitudes towards animals and the environment, with special attention to the voices of women, and to the contested roles of science and faith.Ruby completed her PhD at the Australian National University, and has published, taught and presented on topics spanning animal history, environmental history, colonial history and women's history. She was recently awarded the CHASS Future Leaders Writing Prize for an emerging leader under the age of 35 for an outstanding written contribution in the Humanities, Arts or Social Sciences that deepens understanding of Australian society and culture.
